Can't close hotmail account?

Ok, i have taken these steps to colse my old hotmail account:


To close a free Hotmail account follow these steps


'1) Sign in to http://www.hotmail.com


2) Click "Help"


3) Type "Close account" in the Help search box. Press ENTER


4) Click "Close your account"


5) On the "Close your account" help page, click "Close Account page"


6) Click the "Close My Account" button





After you close your account you will be able to reactive it if you sign in again within 30 days. Do not sign in to your account if you do not want it reactivated.'





That was over 2 months ago, i have not reactivated it, it's still inactive but it's not deleted, i thought if you don't log into that account for 30 days, it gets deleted, i've waited more than twice as long and its only inactive, i want it completely deleted, i've been getting harrassing and abusive emails from someone that i wish to have nothing to do with any longer, hotmail isn't helping with this setback.

i had the same problem. i've tried canceling it on both a mac and a pc and i think the only solution is to write hotmail and let them know the probelm. if enough people let them know, then hopefully they'll fix it.
Reply:Hotmail is manipulating people by forcing them to retain their accounts. This is clearly a SCAM!!! Spread the word, please, folks "Never, EVER, use Hotmail!!!. They won't let you me out of my account and that's WRONG! It's crooked and a scam. Report Abuse

Reply:Just dont go into your hotmail account. Even if you open it it will be considered as activity in your account. Thats why Microsoft keeps keeping it open.
