There is a free, safe, and easy way of doing it. Here is how i did it.
Start with Gmail. Create a new Gmail account. Note that you could use an existing Gmail account for this solution. This has some tradeoffs, one being that messages you send from the iPhone appear to come from that Gmail account instead of your existing Hotmail account. If you just want to keep your Hotmail account intact and use that as your main account, I think it's better for to create a new Gmail account and just use that for handling Hotmail.
Under Settings, go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP 禄 Enable IMAP. Save the changes. Under Settings and then Accounts, add another email address -- add your existing Hotmail account.
Now go to Hotmail. In your inbox, there should be a message from Gmail; you need to click on a link in that message. Next go to Options and set up forwarding to your new Gmail account. It's up to you whether messages are retained in Hotmail. (If you don't have an option for forwarding, you may be out of luck. Perhaps others have advice on how to get Hotmail to allow this.)
Back to Gmail: There should be a message from Hotmail; you need to click on a link in that message. Now back into Gmail settings, under Accounts, you should see your Hotmail email address listed. Click on the link that says Make Default. From here on, you can use Gmail as your way to check Hotmail. You actually do not need to login to Hotmail any more to read mail, you can use your Gmail account as the web-based way to check Hotmail.
Now how to access from iPhone: On the iPhone, go to Settings and then Mail. Delete any previous attempts you've made to make a Hotmail account -- these can cause problems with the new account you create. Create a new email account by clicking Add Account. This e-mail was indicated by Hotmail as being "blocked for your safety". Earlier, through Yahoo! Answers, I refused to verify this address.

Question 2: If so, why does Hotmail indicate this message as being dangerous (phishing) ?

When you have a hotmail account and someone found out your secret answer when you go into your forgot log in information and they change your password would they know who did it? It has happened to me and im just wondering if they can track the person down or if i just contact them and they reset the password.?

The ISP# isn't a person's name, but merely an identifier as to who the Internet Service Provider is. It's also quite possible they may be able to reset your password.

My hotmail account seems to have been deleted recently although I did not delete it. This is very annoying as a lot of my settings on other websites are posted to this address and also my myspace account only opens to this address. Is there any way of retrieving my account?

Not directly, no. The only way I've found to get Hotmail on the iPhone is through Izymail. Be forewarned that Izymail costs $20/year, but it'll still work for free, only all your emails will be text only. Izymail will download new emails but does not sync with Hotmail (like IMAP does). If you delete mails from the iPhone, you'll still have to go into Hotmail later and erase them again. Do a Google search for Izymail

What you can do is contact the .NET passport customer services team (http://register.passport.net/contactus.s... with enough proof that it is your account %26amp; they'll reset your password for you.
Hope you get your account back. Im not sure why it isn't recognizing your password.

Hotmail account have no inbox...yet?
Okay, i have a hotmail account and ive been using it for a while now. everything was fine and today i logged in...instead of taking me to my inbox, a page came up and said "you dont have an inbox....yet" why did that came up? how cam i fix it?
oh and then i click on this link that was on the same page that says "click here to create ur inbox"...i click on it and then it takes me to the sign up page??

Why can't people with hotmail accounts access their email the past few days?
I've had the same hotmail account for 9 years. Never had trouble accessing it before. Also have yahoo, gmail, and netzero--all of those are working fine.
Anyone know why attempts to connect to hotmail inbox haven't been working for the past several days? (After entering password, all that comes up is a blank white screen. The inbox doesn't kick in, even after waiting for 15-30 minutes. Refreshing is unsuccessful as well).

Hotmail can be a bit funny sometimes...ur account has prob been temporarily disabled due to inactivity(they dont give u long)...u have to re-activate ur account and it should start working straight away....hope this helps...

Is their any way to have your hotmail emails fwd to your aol account?
As far as i know hotmail has no option of forwarding. Although there is an alternative, i have not tried it so i dont know if it works but u could have a go. GetMail is a hotmail forwarding program. I dotn knwo if its free though but u shud check it out.

You should... contact Hotmail about that.
You could try to locate an American site of hotmail instead of a British one and create a new account there. This may be a bit tricky though, since sites also get your IP-Adress (or at least the one of your ISP) and often redirect you to the British site. Cookies on your PC may also... tell you're "British" to Hotmail. Chances are that if you succeed you also might end up with a .co.us domain.

What would you think if you found this in your boyfriend's (girlfriend) hotmail account?
WE have just started dating like 2 weeks ago, Well, i left my msn on and my girlfriend went into my hotmail (dont worry, i let her, the hotmail was already on) and was looking at some of my e-mails, i have saved e-mails in folders such as "good e-mails" " music" e-mails" and so she was looking through one of these files and she saw a whole buch of them, like 25-30 from my ex girlfriend in which she knows, and is quite good friends with. Now these e-mails arent from like a week ago, they're pretty old like from 3-4 months ago, but theres some really deep stuff in them (ex: things wouldnt be the same without u, i cant imagine myself with anyone else...). What would u be thinking if you were my girlfriend? Would u care?, or would u think im still in love with my ex cause im keeping those old e-mails?
What would you think if you found this in your boyfriend's (girlfriend) hotmail account?
I would wonder a few things if I was her.
1) Why does he still have these and did he realize he still had them?
2) If its on purpose I would probably think that you still liked your ex or weren't completely over it and would be upset.
3) If they said some pretty deep things only a few months ago, I would wonder how you could just move on so quickly and if you would be able to do the same with me. I may further be upset simply from the things that were said (especially if any of those are e-mails YOU sent with really deep things YOU said.) I would possibly be somewhat jealous of what you guys had and may not feel so great about the current relationship anymore. I may also have a tendency to start comparing myself more to your ex and become more insecure.
Basically you just need to make sure she isn't really hurt. You can't just assume one way or the other. You need to reassure her that you are completely over your ex and that you like HER now. It may also be a good idea to get rid of them so she see's that this is the case. Actions always speak louder than words.

Oh, and now that I think about it I too have kept some things of sentimental value so she may understand that. If she doesn't care, great. If it hurts her a lot you may want to consider how important those e-mails are to you compared to how important this new girl is to you.

But I'd be really understanding about it, I personally save some of those e-mails too just because they're memories that I don't want to forget even if I have moved on. If they're from before you two even started dating or anything, I wouldn't think it's a big deal really... It's not like you were cheating on her or anything, don't sweat it. If she seems upset, talk to her about it. Explain why you want to keep them ; if you talk to her, I'm sure she'll understand if she doesn't already. Good luck =]

I didn't like it either. Go to the help button and find a customer service area where you can send them this question. I think you have to delete the new version and go to one of their websites to download the old one again. I can't remember where to direct you but they will give you all the directions.

Help - hijacked hotmail account!?
I believe someone has hacked into my Hotmail account to send spam messages. At the moment I'm getting about 400 messages a week returning messages supposedly sent from my account (spam detectors, or holiday absence mails.) I don't use my Hotmail account for anything important, but would like to keep it going and stop this nuisance to others. How is it happening and what can I do to stop it?

From what you say it sounds more like you are getting e-mail returns from ones sent from your account. Changing spam settings will not do anything, as your account is the one doing the spamming. For every return you get there is prob. the same or more which do hit a valid e-mail at the other end.
As suggested, get your password changed, and run Spybot on your PC, as there is always the possibility that your machine is acting as a mule system, now that you know that you have accessed a dodgy site. Spammers tend to package different tools together rather than just reply on one option.
Have you noticed if you PC seems slower recently, or takes longer to download?

Happens to thousands of people every day..... emails asking you to please validate your account (link provided), or sign-in for security check, or sign-in to collect prize..... all leading to fake but real looking mimic websites.
That's how you might stop it happening again... be careful of spoof emails or fake websites. Keep your passwords secret and do not disclose them to anyone... unless you are sure you are on the correct URL. Also though... people can send emails from your name/email account without having access to the account itself... it's easy to make an email look like it originated from a specific email address.

Sounds like Hotmail is having technical difficulties, if you need to know, contact Hotmail service preventative and ask them about the problem.

Closing of Hotmail Account?
Nowdays, I and my friends received a email saying that the closing of hotmail accounts. If we do not send this message to 15 other hotmail user within 24 hours receiving this email, our hotmail account will be automatically deleted. Is it true of it's just a scam. For your information, the email is said to be sent by MSN Account Coordinator, Calvin W. Kreantz.

This sounds like a scam. A lot of spam emails state things like this. It is a means of getting additional email addresses they can spam. Spammers set up their email to track who you forward email to. This way they can obtain a list of your friends email addresses. Delete these messages.

Oh and anyone can sign a email as the MSN guy. Look at the email address, its bogus. And if it doesnt look like it, it is. You will never have to send something to mutiple people in order to keep your account. Crazy stuff floating around out there

Why do you need this? If you are getting mail daemon saying emails you haven't sent weren't deliverable. That is because somebody is using your email addy as respond to. Doesn't mean they know your password or even your addy. They just use random addys. They are probably not really using your account. If you think somebody is actually getting in the account, check computer for spy ware and key loggers. Then change your password. I get this fairly often and it's usually spam type mail being returned as undeliverable.

I am not able to import the contacts list from my hotmail account to my outlook express.. help pls?
I don't have a hotmail account so I don't know the export options that it gives you, but to import into outlook express you will need to export from hotmail to a comma delimited format. If you open OLE (outlook express), goto the file pulldown menu%26gt;Import%26gt;Import other addressbook. It will display a dialog with a list of supported formats. the last one is comma delimited and will be the most likely one that you will be able to use. Select that and it will then prompt you to show it where the comma delimited file is that you export from Hotmail... assuming of course that you can export in comma delimitation from hotmail. Point it to that file and it should import your contacts. It may prompt you to confirm that the fields are aligned. Meaning that a email address in hotmail is the same field in OLE, etc.

You then Install and open Windows LIVE Mail and Messenger (Found on the desktop or in the start menu - make it's its Windows LIVE Mail not Windows Mail). Once it's opened, you can configure your account and it will retrieve your old hotmail files and emails!

I am going to switch my accounts and I call on everyone to do the same. Let's show MSN that we are not going to take their crap any longer. They will either have to shape up or go out of business. BTW, they can still lose money even if people only had the free service. If people do not use it, advertisers will pull their ads to where the people are going. If that is the case, if more people leave Microsoft, they lose lots of revenue in ads. Again, I say stop putting up with it. They can do things like this to you only if you sit there and take it.

Microsoft may have that information, but I don't think they would give it to you. You can contact them and ask though. Select Windows Live Mail from the list on the webpage below and fill out a contact form.

Well, you can put the email address in and contact hotmail. When this happened to my friend's mom, she contacted hotmail and they ask her some personal questions and she was able to get the password.

Reply:Sometimes security reason can be a boomerang when you forget the password %26amp; unfortunately the secret question. There's no way to recover it unless you remember it. Like I said, Hotmail allows login or give password only to legitimate user which is based on the correct password or secret question's answer. If you forget both, how can Hotmail know that you are the legitimate user? So try hard to remember, any clues matters!

if u didn't, then there is no way to get it back :/

EDIT............ when i went into the 'forgotten your password' it just asked me to type in some numbers that were displayed, it didn't ask for security question.

My computer won't allow me to access google or my hotmail account. Can anyone tell me why? Please help!?
The internet explorer is the latest edition. I have tried to type www.google.com in the url and also tried to access it by doing a web search and clicking on the link. Everytime, it seems like it times out and won't open it up. I know its not google because I have a laptop that has no problems going to the site. I also have an issue opening up my hotmail account. I can access the login screen, but it will time out while trying to log in. Have been having these problems for about 2 weeks now. I have ran anti-virus and spyware programs and tried re-booting. Also tried cleaning up the system and cache, browsing history, and cookies. Can anyone help, or have some advice as to what might fix this issue?

I m aware of different kind of viruses released that block the use from viewing google and microsoft website but you gotta scan your computer for viruses and see what happens. Another option is to plug another computer on your place to see if the other computer does google. If yes it means it has to do with your computer and the best way to resolve the problem is kindly yo format and reinstall your copy of windows

It is working for me however there were problems a few days ago, presumably because MSN was doing server maintenance.. Try clearing your internet cache and sign in by going to msn.com.

My partner has an old hotmail account that he used in his previous marriage and insists it's been deleted. This is his computer I'm using and on two occassions when I've tried to log onto my hotmail account this old email address has appeared on the screen (Sign in Box).
He tells me he hasn't been on this account and that his computer sometimes automatically pops up this OLD EMAIL address ! (in the Sign in Box) STRANGE......is this possible? How do I find out if his account is still activated or maybe when it was last used??

Sorry but you cant do this, try to mark their e-mail as spam and dont open it, allso launch a abuse report on hotmail.com for the particular acount!

I have hotmail too. Up at the top off the screen after you log on, you can click on the phrase that says "switch back to classic" and that should take the bright white light away. Good Luck!

Sometimes it takes a little while to get the notices. Maybe a day or more. Check the bulk bin also. Maybe you could call them and ask them if it is still a good address

To open your hotmail account, you have to go to www.msn.com or www.hotmail.com and log in from their page. You can only login to Yahoo mail accounts from the Yahoo page.

I'm wondering if it's normal that sometimes when I try to click on a function, or go to a new section of my hotmail email account the page is directed to an ad? The annoying thing is that it provides no button from which it can be closed, instead it's necessary to press the back space bar and return to the original page to try and get into the correct page.

You will be asked the sectet question that you chose when you first signed up for this email account.
Simply type the answer and you will be able to reset the password.
If you forgot the answer to the secret question, you'll have to email the MSN customer support from another email address.
Write back if you couldn't answer the secret question.

My computer won't allow me to access google or my hotmail account. Can anyone tell me why? Please help!?
The internet explorer is the latest edition. I have tried to type www.google.com in the url and also tried to access it by doing a web search and clicking on the link. Everytime, it seems like it times out and won't open it up. I know its not google because I have a laptop that has no problems going to the site. I also have an issue opening up my hotmail account. I can access the login screen, but it will time out while trying to log in. Have been having these problems for about 2 weeks now. I have ran anti-virus and spyware programs and tried re-booting. Also, try running IE with all the extensions off. To do this, right click the shortcut you use to open IE, click Properties, and go to the Shortcut tab. The Target distination should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
At the end of this, add "-extoff" (without the quotes) one space after the last quote in the link. It should now look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
Click OK, and use the edited shortcut. If you are now able to access the previously blocked sites, an extension installed into your browser is disabling them. I would then suggest downloading and reinstalling IE from a different source that is extension-free (such as from Microsoft's site, at http://tinyurl.com/2cx7m).

As you said you have internet explorer 7 this might have been an issue as the new ie might have errors try restoring your computer.

Reply:mmm..It could be you using many security softwares so hotmail account might take time and give you an error message.
As you said you have internet explorer 7 this might have been an issue as the new ie might have errors try restoring your computer.
Or if you want an easy way out try disabling all your security antivirus,spam pop blocker and many more including your IE security settings to a minimum.

What browser are you using? I always stick with Mozilla Firefox, never have any trouble connecting to site unless my internet connection is down!
You could also try to download and install Windows Live Mail. This is a desktop application that you can setup with your hotmail account details to retrieve email so you don't have to access the webpage hotmail.co.uk all the time.

I would guess that even if they did store that info, they wouldn't disclose it to anyone because it could be used to spam, infect, etc. if you are having problems like someone went in and changed stuff, report it to Hotmail and they should handle it themselves.

I log into my hotmail account more then twice a day.
I have around 50 accounts linked to it. (Registered with)
I have tried logging in the past 2 days and this is the message I get on hotmail.com, I usually use Windows Live Mail.
"The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please try again."
Making a new account is not really an option.
Is there something I can do or an email for windows live support?
